Trenton Kids Count 2019 Release

The recent release of Trenton Kids Count 2019 on June 13th marks the first Kids Count initiative in the city in nearly twenty years. The Burke Foundation partnered with the Smith Family Foundation to fund the report, developed by Advocates for Children of New Jersey, which provides a snapshot of local child well-being in the state’s capital city.

The report includes data related to the City of Trenton’s demographics, family economic security, education, and child health, protection and care. The numbers can be used by policymakers, health experts, philanthropists, and the public, and serve as a cornerstone around which these individuals can advocate on behalf of children 0-5. Trenton Kids Count 2019 highlights the disparities and challenges the city faces, but also commends the initiatives and efforts of the community to push the numbers forward. This report is an incredible opportunity to unite members of Trenton and New Jersey to produce improved policies, funding strategies, and stronger starts for Trenton’s children and families.
