Our Approach

We actively seek out the most effective early childhood solutions and explore innovative approaches and promising practices that address the needs of low-income children and families. Our team researches and evaluates bright spots to learn what works, for whom, and when.

We engage directly with families throughout the state to better understand their needs and the barriers they face. By working together with communities to identify promising interventions and barriers to implementation, our team ensures that the Burke Foundation’s goals are aligned with the communities we serve and our investments support areas where we can make the greatest difference.

We pilot, strengthen, and scale promising approaches by offering funding, technical advice, strategic guidance, and critical connections. We offer evaluation assistance to help our grantee partners measure results, course-correct, and sustain their impact.

We leverage partnerships with other early childhood leaders, policymakers, and collaborators to amplify the impact of the Burke Foundation’s resources. Our team works with key stakeholders in the field to identify gaps in knowledge and funding, share promising new approaches, and disseminate best practices.

Our team engages public and private partners to amplify, scale, and create lasting impact. We support advocacy, research, and funding initiatives that work towards a more equitable system for children and their families.
